Update

It's been pointed out that I've been a bit remiss in posting of late. There are several reasons for this.

1. I was in London a couple of weeks ago for Olympia and then came back late Friday night. On the Saturday at Shipley library there was a morning which was sponsored by the Guild of Machine Knitters. We were there teaching whoever turned up knitting (both hand and machine) and crochet. It was an enjoyable morning and I stopped off on the way back home at a yarn stand in the market and bought the Jean Greenhowe "Jiffy Knits" book that someone recommended to me.

2. Last weekend I was down in Birmingham at the NEC taking part on the Knit and Natter stand. Thursday saw the launch of Shaun the Sheep PicKnit. On the Friday I then went down and dropped off Christmas presents for some of the family from Christmas 2005 (!) and 2006. It is not because I have been remiss in getting them but more the fact that I've not seen the family to hand them over. I also made another family stop off and picked up half of the family photograph collection which I intend to scan in and store on disc. On the Saturday Noonie and I went to Cancer Research session. It covered various aspects of the research that is being done, some of the facts and figures regarding mortality/cures as well as a tour of some of the labs. It was an interesting session as well as actually seeing what the funds are being used and how they are being used rather than something mysterious that you never really know about. Having lost both of my mother's parents as well as MM's father to cancer it was an important visit.

3. This week I have been down to London again but this time for a work training course. It was dealing with motivation/people skills and it was certainly an interesting one. I also got to stay with an old work colleague of mine and we met up Thursday night with another. When I am in London we usually go out for a Turkish meal but as one of them hadn't finished work till 8pm this wasn't possible this time. The next time I anticipate being in London now is for Ally Pally so at least it gives me a chance to loose a couple of inches in anticipation of the meal.
