I am still very much around but catching up with a number of projects. I will be posting Xmas goodies here shortly but will be in the new year as I don't have the PC on for Christmas/Boxing/New Year's Day.

First Ever Sock

I started this sock at Cardiff. I bought some more bells and some feet charms from Meiflower and I got the yarn from Web of Wool as it was rather patriotic given that we were in Wales. I'd continued with it at Harrogate but finally got round to finishing it tonight. I must say that I don't like the kitchener stitch grafting finish. Next time I will put all the stitches on one needle (alternating between front and back of sock) and cast off normally.

MM was complaining last night that I never seem to finish anything. Well I have certainly disproved that point. I've finished three loopa scarves and the sock this week. I have also finished the knitting of a square in Noro which I now need to chuck into the washing machine and felt down in order that I can sew it to a lining and make it into a purse which I will all have done before Sunday so that will be five finished objects in a week. Now if only I could work lace patterns that quick!

First SP Parcel

Well after a rotten day at work I got home to find this waiting for me:
I had been told that it was on its way but it arriving makes it all the more enjoyable as I like opening pressies so roll on Christmas ;-) [I have put Sharon Miller's Heirloom Knitting on my wishlist so needles crossed that MM has got the hint!]

I opened up to this colourful sight:

Then here they are all laid out.

The yellow packages contained silicone spatula and brush and some cookie cutters. I've now got to find an excuse to make a cake to utilise them. Due to the show schedule I set myself for October/November I decided not to make Christmas cakes this year so perhaps I could make one for SkipNorth......

The red packages contained these goodies. The chocolates are from Linden Lady who I've seen and tasted goodies from at the shows and I know exactly how good their chocolates taste so I've been good and am exercising restraint and opening them Christmas Day. The TARDIS is a money box and contains mallows. I'm beginning to think that my SP is known to me but isn't the person I thought it was.

Finally in the green package there was this skein of yarn.

It has written on the bag "hand dyed 100% wensleydale aran which is called 'seashore'". My SP certainly knows my favourite colour and I'm looking forward to incorporating it with something for me. I wonder if I incorporate it with the black alpaca from Harrogate last year for the scarf I promised myself.

Updates

I've now been a good boy and been posting several updates so make sure you go back through November and October to see pictures of the shows and purchases I've been to amongst other things :)

Duvet Day

I went raiding Texere today and bought all of the following which I'll be combining with the Loopa and making scarves:

I intend combining these to make a special loopa scarf for a friend at work. Pics will follow when I complete.Also decided to succumb to some plain sock wool and guess who'll be getting socks for Christmas?

Then matters got even worse and this just "happened" to fall into my shopping bag

Coldspring also got a beating. I've got to use the Noro/Debbie Bliss to make a purse for someone at work for her daughter for Christmas.

Finally I stopped off at a charity shop and made these two discoveries. The only problem was I got home and found I already had the Cat Knits book so unless anyone is interested I'll be posting it on e-bay.

Harrogate Spoils

I stopped off and raided Jamiesons stand for these. I was particularly drawn to the opal which is kind of variagated and am looking forward to seeing it once I've knitted it up.

I yet again raided HipKnits of these two

and completely emptied the collection of banana yarn. I'll be combining this little lot with that I bought last month at Ally Pally.

These three I bought for a special project which I need to finish for January. Pictures will finish as soon as the recipient is wearing the spoils 8-X

I also bought several packs of beads and a new wheelie trolley but not too much else. Was nice seeing old faces from last year as well as regulars for the last time this year. What am I going to do now that show season is over?

Cardiff Sheep For Sale

On my first morning in Cardiff walking up to the Cardiff International Arena I happened to walk past a shop and took a couple of pictures of what they had in the window:

As I was not volunteering for the afternoon I went back and spoke nicely to "the management" and was able to take all of the following pictures. I also have it on good authority (by a sign above their entrance) that it is 150 miles to the right of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantsiliogogogoch.

I also wandered past a novelty joke shop where this was hanging on the door:

They also had something else sheepwise inside but I thought it best not to ask to take a picture of it ;)

Cardiff for Dr Who / Torchwood Fans

After quite a long walk out from central Cardiff to Cardiff Bay I finally got to the Millenium Centre to take these snapshots. Unfortunately it was rather persistently raining at the time so I just took these shots and ran. I also managed to escape from being kidnapped by aliens of both the friendly or unfriendly sort.
