News

Well its been too long since my last posting but here we go with the news.

I handed in my notice on my old job on 10 April with a finish date of 5 May. Three weeks in and I got forced out on garden leave. For those of you not in the know this means that I have to take forced annual leave (usually paid) with the possibility that they can call me back into the workplace during the period. This is the main difference between garden leave and lieu in notice. Have been temping ever since at another firm but there was hardly enough work to keep me going for half the day so I had a word with the agency and am starting at a new place tomorrow/today. One of the glories of being a temp.

Anyway two weeks ago I had my leaving do and I must say I was quite overwhelmed at what I received. I got the Harry Potter Goblet of Fire DVD which I hadn't got round to getting. I also got the Star Wars 3 Activity Centre for the PC which is like a programme for making greeting cards and stuff using SW characters. I've a few birthdays coming up so guess what I'll be using. I also got £40 of vouchers for both here and here and to top it all I got a lovely box of choccies from Thorntons. Have said that I will be reclining on the settee, watching HP and knitting courtesy of the vouchers whilst intermittently munching!!

Needle-wise. Well to be honest since I frogged my shawl my needles have remained idle. However, fear not. I have instead been crocheting and whizzed up a baby blanket for my cousin and wife who are expecting their first in October. My cousin-in-law went for a mid-term scan last week but baby was shy and had its legs crossed so still no idea what it is going to be :( Pics will follow but I've run down my batteries and need to get some more tomorrow.

Cargo On Display

I went out for dinner last Friday after giving my friend her commission. I'm not totally happy with it but she is delighted and is here giving it an outing.

Whoops!!

Well I've had to frog the entire shawl and take it back to scratch again. I dropped a few stitches and made such a hash I've decided to restart it as it is a present I want to make sure I get it perfect. This time round though I'll be making sure that I use lifelines.

For my next project though I can't decide between this and the sunrise jacket.
