Birmingham - Day Four

Okay I know that this one is out of sequence but I've only just got round to it and if I do post it in sequence then nobody will ever know it existed!

Well most definitely by day four I had mentally lost it more than normal but I did manage to soothe myself with some purchases. First of all somebody had mentioned that they had these at Taj Yarns so I raced over and got a set.

I am working on the shawl using these although my SP7 did mention that they are not any good for lace work. Has anybody any experience of this at all?

Next up on the shopping spree I bought a handful of Clover goodies:

First thing in the morning though I decided to move over into the other hall and hobknob with the celebrities. I got their badge and also a dedicated signed photo for MM who was speechless at its arrival

The final day did eventually come to a close but in order to keep us going our leader started cheering us on.

I'm doing my 'baby' shawl on Denises...all seems well with it at mo, having said that I haven't touched it all day - will try and photo tomorrow... Only problem I can see for lace is if you need a smaller needle.
Thanks for photo of our leader, I now understand her comments of giant balls, or were they just huge ;-)

I've used my Denise needles quite successfully for lace. Maybe the other person was referring to the fact that they might not be suitable for very fine yarns as they don't go down to small sizes? I'm currently knitting the Feather & Fan shawl from the Best of Knitters book and am happily using Denise needles - ideal as I can keep extending the cord as it grows!

Oops - the shawl is not from Best of Knitters, but from A Gathering of Lace.

Re Denise's for lace: I've used them for practically every type of knitting! The only trouble comes when using them with the smallest needle size because the cables are pretty much the same diameter and the yarn has a tendancy to get stuck.
